European shares rise ahead of an expected higher US open, although Asia closed mixed. The Stoxx Europe 600 gains 0.7%, the FTSE 100 advances 0.5%, the DAX rises 0.6% and the CAC 40 rises 1%, with property shares among the biggest gainers. Trading in oil stocks was mixed, with Brent crude up 0.5% to $86.78 a barrel. Markets in Australia and Japan rose, but stocks in mainland China, Hong Kong and South Korea fell. Asian markets struggled overnight as data showed China's manufacturing sector returned to contraction in October, denting hopes for a recovery," IG analysts wrote. IG futures data shows the Dow Jones opening at 33070, versus Monday's close of 32928.
